Privacy policy
Short version: this site collects almost nothing, sells nothing, and tracks no one. One small app, vega-backup, touches Google data. That part is spelled out below.

This website
The server keeps standard access logs: IP address, browser type, page requested, referring page, and time. They keep the site running and spot abuse. They rotate out automatically.
If you write to hi@v2.ca, your address and message are used to reply. There is no mailing list.
Your browser stores a flag so the boot animation plays once per visit. If you find the hidden game (no hints here), its save file stays in your browser too. Neither is ever sent to the server. No cookies. Not even the good kind with chocolate chips.
vega-backup
vega-backup is a private backup tool for one home server. Only its owner uses it. It is not offered to the public.
- Access. It can only reach files it creates in the owner's Google Drive (the
drive.filescope). It cannot see or open any other Drive file. It has no access to Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google data. - Use. To store and restore the owner's encrypted server backups. Nothing else.
- Storage. Backups are encrypted on the server with AES-256 before upload. The Drive files are unreadable without the owner's key. The Google sign-in token is stored only on the owner's server.
- Sharing. None. No third parties, no advertising, no analytics, no sale of data.
- Retention. Backups are kept up to about three months (7 daily, 4 weekly, 3 monthly snapshots), then pruned.
- Deletion. Revoke access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting the app's Drive folder removes the data.
vega-backup's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your rights
Ask what data exists about you, ask for a fix, or ask for deletion at hi@v2.ca. Answers come within 30 days, usually much faster. A human reads that inbox.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes too.
